I am not a dog person.
And yet, somehow I have a little pup. Lil' Michelle "Mo" Obama has been a lot of work, and with each day I see how much having a dog has changed my life. Despite her possible grass allergy, Mo loves to play fetch.
My daily loafing is sitting in my home, ball or toy "stick" in my hand, playing fetch with Mo. She can only play for 10min tops, but within those minutes, time really does seem to slow down. I can feel my energy change. There is no stress and I don't think about anything else. I feel at ease and am filled with joy when I see how happy this pup is when doing the same thing over and over again.
As a practitioner to be, it is my job to help my patients have moments in their days where they can just stop and breathe. To let the constant "To Do" list stop for a second, and for them to take time for themselves. Whenever this is possible, their energy will shift. Their qi will begin to flow in a different wave. In these moments of calm, I believe we can change our energy and self heal.
I completely understand that sometimes 10min is not possible for everyone. This is why it is important to provide this for others when we can.

I stopped by a local shop a few doors down from ACCHS. There, I was talking to a group of black women and they were telling me of an event that happens annual called something along the lines of Black Women Dreaming. It is a project in which black women go to an airbnb, and they are are able to sleep for 2 hours or over night uninterrupted. Their pillows are blessed by indigenous people. They are asked how they would like to be awaken, they are asked if they want food, if they want hot tea, etc. It is a minimum of 2 hours of peace and calm. It is a time that they can take for themselves in order to be catered to instead of having to cater to others.
One women at the event admitted that they haven't been awaken in such a peaceful way in over 10 years. Usually it is a child crying them awake, or a husband shaking them up. A calm, gentle touch in order to wake up was something they had not experienced.
My other loafing is waking up when I want on the weekends. Yes, sometimes I have to wake up at a certain time. However, on days that there is not a strict schedule, I wake up with no alarm. No feeling rushed. Just a slow and relaxed.
Talking to these women is a reminder that I must be aware of the luxuries I have, and to hopefully more events like this one in order to help others have a moment to themselves, a time for self healing with no interruptions.

Week Six - "good" vibrations, resonance, and energy & qi
Something that really struck me in class was when Larry mentioned that are physical selfs are highly condensed energy. This concept immediately made me think of out connection to our entire selves being entirely made out of Qi. From Qi we can break down and look a the smaller and smaller parts of us, but as a whole - we are Qi.
As physical beings made up of energy and qi, it is easy as a practitioner to then visualize how one needle penetrating a person's skin can make a huge difference. That needle is creating a wave effect (can we even call it a vibration?) throughout the entire body. As a practitioner, I can feel the vibration of the qi, I can feel the qi, I feel the energy moving. Even better, practitioners are able to move the energy with the needle as well as with their own energy. We are the conductors of qi in hopes to regain a sense of symmetry in our bodies and regain a harmonic balance.
This can also be seen in the reverse. With one pathogenic factor penetrating past the wei qi, our bodies are hit with not so "good" vibrations, causing disharmony and imbalance.
As stated in our handout, when building a bridge we have to build smarter, not stronger. We have to figure out the frequencies in order to stop the bridge from breaking down when another resonance meets its same frequency.
As with humans, we have to nurture and heal our bodies smarter. Its not always about the strongest medication, but the consistency and knowledge we have in order to achieve a healthy life.

Week Five - (a)symmetical world and CP violation
I love to look at the (a)symmetical world in relation to Traditional Chinese Medicine.
With a balance of Yin and Yang - everyone would be (in theory) a perfect balance. With this harmony, we would not have pathogenic invading our bodies because our bodies would be in a constant state of health.
With asymmetical world , we see the individual-ness of each person. Our different constitutions are evident, and it is easy to see that each person is battling the Xie qi in all different ways.
With the same idea in mind, the CPT theorem creates a standard and a symmetrical system. Even though this helps to set up a consistency, when the CP is violated, it reminds us that not everything can fit into a mold. Just like the weather, tot everything can be predicted. And even though some scientists may want a fool proof theorem, for me the CP violation reminds us that with non-consistancy comes the challenge to always question what we see. To not create a one size fit all equation to everyone - especially when finding ways to heal a person and bring them back to a symmetrical, Yin/Yang balance of health.

Are there connections you can make between Sacred Geometry and Physics? Can the Fibonacci series be seen as a "signature of life"...
